Angel

As I get further into the blog world I am finding all sorts of blogger who host interesting share about you posts. I think Gratituesday is an awesome idea, so I'm going to jump right in and participate. I think it will also be a way for everyone to get to know me.

This week I am grateful for my youngest adopted daughter. Over the past two years she has taught me a lot. On July 4th she will be two. Although she has not been with us for two years, her birth is the reason her older siblings moved in with us almost 2 years ago.

She has taught me to be patient, oh boy has she! When we first got the placement call for her siblings, Angel had been placed in a different home. My husband and I asked if we could have her moved so that she could live with her Siblings. At the time we where told no because she did not share a bond with her siblings and so therefore it wasn't a priority for placement. 5 months later after her siblings had been with us the whole time, we got a call asking us to take her too. I needed patience to allow the system to work and for the social workers to finally realize all of them needed to be placed in the same home.

Patience was also needed when she first moved in. Her first foster home had neglected her and so she was drastically delayed. She didn't even put weight on her legs until she was almost 1. I'm also learning to be patient because she is almost 2 and she is very quiet and doesn't talk much, making communication with her hard.

I love my little freedom baby! I'm so grateful for her because without her, I wouldn't have the lovely family of 9 that I have been blessed with. I'm grateful that she has joined my family and that the Lord has allowed me to love her and to be her mother, when her biological mother couldn't be there for her.

I love you Almost Birthday Girl!!!!
