Today I am grateful for a couple things. I am very grateful for my loving husband and I'm also grateful that a wonderful friend of mine has passed on and has gone to be with our Father, she was 6 hours short of being 104 years old!My husband, Jonathan, is one of the world's greatest blessing to me. He is a God fearing Christian who is a wonderful head of the house hold. He is kind and loving and treats me like his princess even when I can be a pain in the tushy. My dear heart is a wonderful father and expects nothing but the best from his children. Another reason I am grateful for my husband is because he has helped me reach my life's goal by the time I was 25. My life's goal was to adopt a group of siblings so that we could help them stay together as a family.
When we set out on my goal I was thinking maybe 3 kids, but he is always an over achiever, so somehow we ended up with a sibling group of 4, which when Angel (I wrote about her last week) moved in with us it became 5. In between the time the first 4 moved in and Angel moved in I had our first daughter. So with in 5 months we went from a couple different small groups of foster kids to 6 kids. At this time we didn't know that we where going to get to adopt our foster children, but Jonathan helped me learn to cope with such a change in our life and has helped me become the mom I am today. We just had #7 and I'm still learning, but I couldn't do it without the love of my life her on Earth.
The second thing that I am grateful for is a dear friend of mine, Edna Johnson. She died last week just 6 hours short of being 104 years old. I couldn't find a picture of her, so I'll share a picture of her daughter, granddaughter, and great-granddaughter. Her daughter was my dance teacher for 17 years. Edna loved life and lived it to the best of her ability every day. When her brother died at 94 years old, she told everybody that 94 years old was just too young to die. Today I found out that at 100 she stopped take antibiotic because they cause birth defects. She was such a hoot! She was so proud of being 100, she would tell everybody she met that she 100 and such years old. When she lost her drivers license at 98, she admitted to her daughter in law that she continued to drive behind her family's back. She was a stinker! She was a health nut and always made sure to take care of her family. She loved America and fought for what she knew was right. I will miss her, but she has gone home to be with our Father! I love you Edna, I will see you when I come home.
